Basketball Recap: Anderson Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Anderson had won three straight games and Damien King did his part to make it four on Friday. The Anderson Indians strolled past the Kokomo Wildkats with points to spare, taking the game 84-68 for which the team can thank King, who almost dropped a double-double with 32 points and nine rebounds. His evening made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Another player making a difference was Don Bowling, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave him a new career-high.

Despite the defeat, Kokomo had strong showings from Baris Moore, who to rack up 23 points, and Zion Bellamy, who posted 21 points and five boards. Moore is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last four games he's played. A'Dayveon Young was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Anderson pushed their record up to 20-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.3 points over those games. As for Kokomo, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6.

Looking ahead, Anderson will face off against Fort Wayne Wayne at 3:30 p.m. on March 1st. Anderson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 matchups -- so hopefully Fort Wayne Wayne likes a good challenge. As for Kokomo, they have already played their next game, a 54-49 defeat against Tippecanoe Valley on the 22nd.
