Basketball Recap: Independence Home School Lions vs. Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy Rams

The Independence Home School Lions entered their tilt with the Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy Rams with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. Independence Home School strolled past the Rams with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 60-46. Given Independence Home School's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the Rams are ranked 548th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Independence Home School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tate Beeson led the charge by scoring 16 points. Another player making a difference was Isaac Daniels, who scored 12 points.

Despite the loss, Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy saw an underclassman step up: Teddy Zitron scored 22 points. Riley Ellis was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Independence Home School pushed their record up to 12-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game.
