Volleyball Recap: Penn Falls Short of Crown Point in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Penn couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crown Point Bulldogs on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Kingsmen of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2020.

Crown Point found their leader in sophomore Hayden Klimowicz, who had 23 digs and two assists. Those 23 digs set a new season-high mark for Klimowicz.

The loss snapped Penn's winning streak at five matches and leaves them with a 24-7 record. As for Crown Point, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 23 of their last 25 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-3 record this season.

Penn does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Crown Point, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Carroll on the 1st.
