Baseball Recap: Bishop Carroll Comes Up Short

Bishop Carroll extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-15 in the process. They came up short against the Chestnut Ridge Lions, falling 10-0. The Huskies were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Chestnut Ridge, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.4 runs across that stretch.

For Chestnut Ridge's part, they got a big performance out of Haydan Webb, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Webb has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Whysong, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Bishop Carroll and Chestnut Ridge could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Huskies will face off against Bedford at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (524 vs. 91). Meanwhile, Chestnut Ridge (ranked 237th) will meet Hollidaysburg (ranked 40th) at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
