Basketball Game Preview: Wellborn Panthers vs. Ohatchee Indians

Wellborn hasn't had much luck against Ohatchee recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wellborn Panthers will be home for the holidays to greet the Ohatchee Indians at 7:00 p.m.

It was a proper cat-fight when Wellborn faced off against Saks on Tuesday. Wellborn might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Saks an easy 76-52 victory. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ray Williams, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Williams is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Williams, who went 7 of 15 en route to 16 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Ohatchee entered their tilt with Pleasant Valley on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 59-51. While the Indians didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Ohatchee is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Wellborn, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
