Basketball Recap: Jeffrey Tate Key Part of a Team Effort in Hornets Win

Scotlandville won the last time they faced Capitol and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Scotlandville Hornets took down the Capitol Lions 62-48. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Lions are ranked 198th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Scotlandville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeffrey Tate out in front who posted ten points along with eight steals and seven assists. The dominant performance gave Tate a new career-high in points. Aaron Marshall was another key player, going 8 for 16 en route to 19 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

Scotlandville's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Capitol, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.
