Football Game Preview: San Antonio Christian Lions vs. St. Joseph Flyers

The San Antonio Christian Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the St. Joseph Flyers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Antonio Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

San Antonio Christian took a 30-point defeat the last time they faced off against St. Joseph Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. In a tight game that could have gone either way, the Lions made off with a 20-19 victory over the Bloodhounds.

San Antonio Christian can attribute much of their success to Ethan Young, who rushed for 118 yards and one TD, and Sloan Guillory, who rushed for 45 yards and a pair of scores. That's the most rushing yards Young has posted since back in October of 2024.

Meanwhile, after only ten points in their last contest, St. Joseph made sure to put some points up on the board against St. Anthony on Thursday. The Flyers claimed a resounding 38-0 win over the Yellowjackets. The victory continues a trend for the Flyers in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now won five in a row.

St. Joseph's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for San Antonio Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

San Antonio Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Joseph in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, sneaking past 17-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
