Volleyball Recap: Simi Valley Pioneers vs. Brentwood School Eagles
After flying high against Golden Valley on Tuesday, Simi Valley came back down to earth. The Pioneers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brentwood School Eagles on Friday. While the Pioneers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-21 in the first set.
Simi Valley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 26-24, 25-20, 25-22.
Despite the loss, Simi Valley saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jordyn Whaley had six digs and three aces.
Simi Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Simi Valley will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Castaic at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brentwood School, they will square off against Buckley at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
