Homestead's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Wilcox Chargers a 1-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won four in a row.

Homestead's one-goal win came courtesy of Daniel Morrissey, who's now up to two this season.

Homestead now has a winning record of 6-5-6. As for Wilcox, they dropped their record down to 5-9-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Homestead will take on Los Gatos at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Homestead's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Wilcox, they will square off against Los Altos at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Los Altos will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Wilcox surely won't give up without a fight.
