Soccer Game Preview: Delta vs. Manitou Springs

The Delta Panthers will head out to challenge the Manitou Springs Mustangs at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Delta sitting on 11 straight wins and Manitou Springs on eight.

Delta is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Rifle on Tuesday. Jessica Black was a massive factor in the win as she booted in four goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Manitou Springs kept a clean sheet against Eagle Ridge Academy on Tuesday. They blew past the Warriors 3-0. Give Manitou Springs' defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Delta pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 46 goals over those six matchups. As for Manitou Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1-2.

Delta couldn't quite get it done against Manitou Springs when the teams last played back in May of 2023 as they fell 2-0. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
