Basketball Game Preview: Union Red Hawks vs. West Catholic Falcons

The Union Red Hawks will square off against the West Catholic Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Union: they have been struggling with 12 straight losses at home dating back to last season, while West Catholic has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.

Last Tuesday, Union had to suffer through a 76-29 loss at the hands of South Christian. While losing is never fun, the Red Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 464th, while the Sailors are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, West Catholic strolled past Northview with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 48-34. The 48-point effort marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

West Catholic's win bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
