Basketball Preview: Holy Cross Cougars vs. Western Hills Wolverines
The Holy Cross Cougars will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Western Hills Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Holy Cross' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while the Wolverines have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Holy Cross can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 58-13 win over Iroquois on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-8.
Meanwhile, Western Hills had to suffer through a rough 75-29 loss at the hands of the Flyers. While losing is never fun, Western Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Flyers are ranked 13th).
Holy Cross is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Western Hills, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
