The Mount Carmel RED TORNADOES will square off against the Troy Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mount Carmel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Mount Carmel is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top against Wellsboro by a score of 6-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the RED TORNADOES.

Mount Carmel let Jon Morgante and Jason Klokis run wild. Morgante went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI, while Klokis went 1-for-4 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Yuskoski, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Mount Carmel hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Troy waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Black Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted against the Black Knights since May 18, 2022.

Troy's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brendan Gilliland, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Mason Smith was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Troy's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Carmel, their record is now 15-4.
