Softball Game Preview: Bauxite Miners vs. Quitman Bulldogs

The Bauxite Miners will face off against the Quitman Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Bauxite is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering White Hall just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 7-3 to the Bulldogs.

Bauxite got a good showing from Bianca Battistone, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, Alysia Garner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI.

Meanwhile, Quitman had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They came out on top against the Jackrabbits by a score of 5-1.

Quitman's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Bauxite, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Bauxite was able to grind out a solid win over Quitman in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 6-2. Does Bauxite have another victory up their sleeve, or will Quitman turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
