Softball Recap: Glenn Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Glenn never let their opponents score on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Southwest Guilford Cowboys as Glenn made off with a 6-0 win. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Addyson Irving made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. Those 17 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Brooklyn Hardin was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kendall Fraas, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

The victory was the third in a row for Glenn, bringing their record up to 6-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Southwest Guilford, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6.

Looking ahead, Glenn will welcome East Forsyth at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southwest Guilford, they will head out on the road to challenge Page at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwest Guilford's pitchers better be ready for this one: Page has averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
