Baseball Recap: Norview Takes a Loss

Norview extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-6. They came up short against the Maury Commodores, falling 18-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Pilots were not able to get on the board.

As for Maury, they now have a winning record of 3-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the game before.

For Maury's part, Landon Strauss was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Strauss a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landen Hall, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Blake Cushman was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Looking ahead, Norview will be playing in front of their home fans against Arcadia at 12:00 p.m. on the 11th. As for Maury, they will head out on the road to take on Hanover at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
