Basketball Recap: Bear Creek Comes Up Short

Bear Creek played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Ralston Valley Mustangs and fell 71-44. The Bears have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Ralston Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Frank Psaute, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Tanner Braketa was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 assists.

Bear Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Ralston Valley, the win keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.

Bear Creek will welcome Columbine at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Columbine knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Bear Creek likes a good challenge. As for Ralston Valley, they will venture away from home to square off against Lakewood at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Lakewood: they have been struggling with nine straight losses at home, while Ralston Valley has snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road.
