Meanwhile, Desert Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 34-14 to Cienega. The Jaguars were down 34-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Having lost for the first time this season, Red Mountain fell to 4-1. As for Desert Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything came up roses for Red Mountain against Desert Ridge when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-7 win. In that matchup, the Mountain Lions amassed a halftime lead of 34-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
