Basketball Recap: Concord Academy Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Concord Academy lost to Carmel Christian back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 76-56 margin over the Cougars. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 20 points or more this season.

Concord Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lincoln Raper, who shot 60% from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and three steals. Raper is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of James Minlend, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 17 points.

Concord Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

The victory keeps Concord Academy at an undefeated 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 72.5 points this season. As for Carmel Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Concord Academy has already played their next contest, a 64-30 victory against Winston Salem Christian on the 15th. As for Carmel Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gaston Day at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
