Football Game Preview: Edwin O. Smith Panthers vs. RHAM Raptors

The Edwin O. Smith Panthers will square off against the RHAM Raptors at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Edwin O. Smith is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 35 points two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Farmington on Friday. They came up short against the River Hawks, falling 35-13. Panthers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the River Hawks since Friday.

Despite the defeat, Edwin O. Smith had strong showings from Sean Podosek, who threw for 147 yards and one touchdown, and Joey Baker, who picked up 47 receiving yards and one score.

Meanwhile, RHAM was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Middletown 44-6. The Raptors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.

RHAM's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Edwin O. Smith, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Things could have been worse for Edwin O. Smith, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 21-3 loss to RHAM in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
