Softball Recap: Thrall's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Thrall entered their tilt with Rogers on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Eagles. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 5-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Miley Pokorny spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mikayla Velasquez was a standout: she scored a run and stole four bases while going 1-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Riley Luton also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Thrall hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 4-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Thrall pushed their record up to 11-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Rogers, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Thrall will have a chance to go back-to-back against Rogers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
