 Winning is just a little bit easier when  you work as a team to  rack up seven more assists than your opponent, a fact the Braden River Pirates proved  on Thursday. They slipped by Winthrop College Prep Academy  51-50.
  Emily Dalton continued  her habit of posting crazy stat lines,  dropping  a double-double on 22 points and 13  rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which  she has scored at least 25% of Braden River's points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jada Banks, who  scored 11 points along with 3  steals.
 Winthrop College Prep Academy's  defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of  JoLesa Birkhead, who  scored 26 points along with 8  rebounds and 7  steals, and  Zamyria King who  almost  dropped  a triple-double on 16 points, 9  rebounds, and 13  steals. The  matchup was  Birkhead's eighth in a row with at least ten points.
 The  victory  got Braden River back to even at 2-2. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, they have  been struggling recently, as they've  lost four of their last five games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
 Braden River will head out on the road to face off against Lakewood Ranch at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another  in Florida (Lakewood Ranch is ranked 347th, while Braden River is ranked 367th). As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, they will be playing at home against Patel at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
