Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Sycamore

Sycamore had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Middletown Middies with a sharp 13-3 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-2 on Monday.

Sycamore got a great performance from Corwin Wang as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Zach Branam and Cal Frischer did most of the damage at the plate: Branam went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Frischer went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Those two runs gave Frischer a new career-high. Noah Poore was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Sycamore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Middletown only posted a batting average of .368.

Sycamore's record is now 6-7. As for Middletown, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
