Softball Game Preview: Collinsville Kahoks vs. Edwardsville Tigers

Collinsville is 2-8 against Edwardsville since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Kahoks will square off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m.

Collinsville is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Greenville, falling 10-0.

Meanwhile, Edwardsville waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Warriors 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted against the Warriors since April 24, 2017.

Edwardsville pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Collinsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Collinsville couldn't quite finish off Edwardsville when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Kahoks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
