Softball Recap: Pontotoc Wins Going Away Against West Point

Pontotoc got themselves on the board against West Point on Tuesday, but West Point never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Green Wave. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Green Wave: they've now won three in a row.

Star Williams made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over seven innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emarie Boddie, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Madi Collums was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Pontotoc's record is now 10-3. As for West Point, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.
