Baseball Recap: Mountain View-Gotebo Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hobart last Friday, Mountain View-Gotebo came back down to earth. The Mountain View-Gotebo Tigers lost 19-13 to the Blair Broncos on Monday. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Broncos 4-0 in the first period.

Mason Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bayler Bristow, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Mountain View-Gotebo's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Blair, the victory (which was their sixth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Mountain View-Gotebo Tigers face off against Erick Bearcats at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Blair, they will head out to challenge Snyder at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
