Softball Game Preview: Jasper Eagles vs. Purdy Eagles

Jasper will head out to square off against Purdy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Jasper is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Early just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 19-0.

Jasper saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aspen Lehman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Purdy fell victim to East Newton and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Patriots. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost three in a row.

Purdy's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Jasper, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

Jasper couldn't quite get it done against Purdy in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 as they fell 7-2. Can Jasper avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
