Baseball Recap: West Wolfpack vs. Weston Ranch Cougars
West fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Weston Ranch on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Weston Ranch Cougars by a score of 4-3. The Wolfpack have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tyler Armstrong put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February of 2024.
Armstrong wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Mendez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Michael Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
West now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for Weston Ranch, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West will take on Freedom at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Weston Ranch, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Weston Ranch Cougars take on Tokay Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
