Volleyball Recap: Summit Falls Short Against Ranked Nolensville

Summit faced Nolensville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Spartans fell just short of the Knights by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Summit actually scored more points across those five sets (108-105), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-23, 14-25, 26-28, 25-23, 15-9.

Summit's loss came despite strong showings from Bella Lambert and Tessa Rowe. Lambert had 20 digs and four assists, while Rowe had 19 digs and two assists. With that strong performance, Lambert is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaree Poag, who had nine digs and two assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Summit and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Nolensville, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Summit will square off against rival Brentwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Nolensville is set to face off against their familiar foe Franklin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
