Softball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Boswell's Winning Streak

After flying high against Weatherford last Tuesday, Boswell came back down to earth. Boswell fell 6-2 to the Lake Ridge Eagles on Tuesday. The Pioneers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Boswell got a good showing from Harley Malone, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Malone has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Boswell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addy Watson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Boswell's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-5. As for Lake Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, Boswell and Lake Ridge will both be playing Mansfield the next time they take the field. Boswell will head out to face Mansfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Lake Ridge will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
