Basketball Game Preview: First Coast Christian Knights vs. Harvest Community Warriors

First Coast Christian is 2-8 against Harvest Community since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The First Coast Christian Knights will host the Harvest Community Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Neither of these teams found much success offensively their last time out, scoring well below their season average.

Last Friday, First Coast Christian took a blow against Eagle's View, falling 62-20. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 459th, while the Warriors are ranked 147th).

Meanwhile, in a tight match that could have gone either way, Harvest Community made off with a 1-0 victory over St. Johns Classical Academy. The one-point effort marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Harvest Community has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.3 points per game. As for First Coast Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

First Coast Christian suffered a grim 52-31 defeat to Harvest Community when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Harvest Community's Rebekah Harmer, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine steals. Now that First Coast Christian knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
