Volleyball Recap: Tree of Life Christian Comes Up Short

Tree of Life Christian lost against Shekinah Christian back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Trojans came up short against the Flames, falling 3-0. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Tree of Life Christian ultimately came up short, they really made Shekinah Christian work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-13, 26-24, 25-10.

Autumn Sanders paced Tree of Life Christian's offense, picking up five kills. Sanders got some help from Mimi Cochran and her nine assists. Sanders was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Leading Shekinah Christian to victory were Eleyna Beachy and Haylee Beachy. Eleyna had 13 digs and two aces, while Haylee had 15 digs and three assists. Eleyna is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last 38 games she's played dating back to last season.

Tree of Life Christian now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Shekinah Christian, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Tree of Life Christian will be taking part in a tournament against Elgin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Shekinah Christian, they will take on North Union at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday.
