Baseball Game Preview: Clear Lake Falcons vs. Clear Brook Wolverines

For the second straight game, Clear Lake will face off against Clear Brook. The Falcons will head out to square off against the Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clear Lake's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Clear Brook's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Clear Lake took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Clear Brook by a score of 5-1.

For Clear Brook's part, Ryan Benavides was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Clear Brook saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jimmie De Leon, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI. That hit was De Leon's first of the season.

Clear Lake is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Clear Brook, their loss dropped their record down to 9-15-2.
