Michael Rice gave up the fewest earned runs he has since back in April of 2024 on Thursday. Godby had no answer to Rice as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. The dominant performance gave Rice a new career-high in strikeouts.

Looking ahead, Rice and Florida State University High School will be taking part in a tournament against Oakleaf at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Rice has dominated as far as hits are concerned (he's averaged 0.5 per game this season), but he's got his work cut out for him considering the Knights have only allowed six per game this season.
