Basketball Recap: Mackinac Island Comes Up Short

Mackinac Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Pickford Panthers, falling 56-14. The matchup marked the Lakers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Mackinac Island's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lakelyn Bunker, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 13 rebounds, and Kaylee Cowell, who posted five points. That was a full 64.3% of Mackinac Island's points, marking the third time in a row Bunker has scored more than a third of the team's points.

Mackinac Island's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Pickford, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-8.
