Hart saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Cook, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, Burroughs put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Hoover a 14-0 shutout.
Burroughs also got a great performance from Hailey Franco as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave Franco a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Burroughs let Haven Vickers and Kalani Miramontes run wild. Vickers went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Miramontes went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three runs gave Vickers a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Rangsiyawong, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Burroughs pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hart, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hart hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. However, it's not like Burroughs struggles in that department as they've averaged .396. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
