Cambridge/Salem are taking a road trip to challenge the Rensselaer/Loudonville Christian Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cambridge/Salem's defense has only allowed 12.6 points per game this season, so Rensselaer/Loudonville Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.
On Saturday, Cambridge/Salem was fully in charge, breezing past Voorheesville 50-7. Considering Cambridge/Salem has won three matchups by more than 25 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Cambridge/Salem's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Myles Mattson, who picked up 90 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Steven Yakubec was another key signal caller, throwing for 98 yards and three TDs while completing 80% of his passes.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Mattson, who ran a punt back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a kickoff return touchdown from Jackson Rowland.

Meanwhile, Rensselaer/Loudonville Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Greenwich 71-6. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 550th, while the Witches are ranked 119th).
The victory made it two in a row for Cambridge/Salem and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points over those games. As for Rensselaer/Loudonville Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
Everything came up roses for Cambridge/Salem against Rensselaer/Loudonville Christian in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 58-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cambridge/Salem since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
