Basketball Recap: Van Horn Beats Balmorhea for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Van Horn extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Joey Anchondo. The Van Horn Eagles took down the Balmorhea Bears 55-39 on Tuesday thanks in part to Anchondo, who almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Van Horn's points.

Another player making a difference was Gabriel Gonzalez, who posted six points and seven assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

Van Horn has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Balmorhea, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Van Horn will square off against McCamey at 7:30 p.m. on January 14th. As for Balmorhea, they will host Marfa at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
