Softball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Gia Gasbarro and Elyanah Decosta Lead Master's Academy to Victory

Master's Academy won against Westwood last Tuesday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Master's Academy Patriots beat the Port St. Lucie Jaguars by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 16-1. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Nola Matz looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Elyanah DeCosta and Gia Gasbarro did most of the damage at the plate: DeCosta scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Gasbarro scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Ellamae Crooks was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Master's Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Master's Academy's record is now 5-1. As for Port St. Lucie, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5-1.

Coming up, Master's Academy will host Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Master's Academy's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Port St. Lucie, they will venture away from home to take on Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Port St. Lucie is facing Central at the right time seeing as Central is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
