Basketball Recap: Escalon Takes a Loss

Escalon lost against Sonora back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Escalon Cougars fell to the Sonora Wildcats 54-50. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jonathan Curran was nothing short of spectacular for Sonora: he went 11 for 15 on his way to 32 points and six rebounds. Those 32 points gave Curran a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Otterson, who posted ten points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Escalon's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Sonora, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Escalon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 59-41 victory against Hilmar on the 10th. As for Sonora, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-35 win against Orestimba on the 10th.
