Baseball Recap: Archbishop Hannan Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

While Archbishop Hannan's win against Northlake Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Archbishop Hannan Hawks' pitchers stepped up to hand the Northlake Christian Wolverines a 2-0 shutout on Thursday. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Brody Smith was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February of 2024.

Archbishop Hannan's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-12. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Northlake Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Archbishop Hannan Hawks duke it out with Chalmette Owls at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Northlake Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Loranger at 6:30 p.m. on April 7th.
