Recap: East Webster Wolverines vs. Choctaw County Chargers
The East Webster Wolverines were the 56-46 winner over the Choctaw County Chargers when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. East Webster was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 59-58 to Choctaw County. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Caleb Cunningham was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and two steals for Choctaw County. Cunningham continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jakarius Weaver, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
East Webster's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Choctaw County, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Webster will take on Independence at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Choctaw County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Holly Springs at 6:00 p.m. Choctaw County is coming into the matchup with nine straight wins at home, so Holly Springs is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
