Basketball Recap: Escanaba Comes Up Short

Escanaba was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 69-38 loss at the hands of the Munising Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Eskymos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Mustangs are ranked 94th).

Escanaba's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Munising, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Escanaba will head out to challenge Norway at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Norway knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Escanaba likes a good challenge. As for Munising, they are taking a road trip to take on North Central at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
