Basketball Recap: Moapa Valley Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Eldorado came into Monday's match looking for another win against Moapa Valley, but Bryson Walker wouldn't allow it. The Moapa Valley Pirates strolled past the Eldorado Firehawks with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 59-43 thanks in part to Walker, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 16 boards. He has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 11 times he's played.

Russell Hardy was another key player, putting up ten points and five steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023.

Eldorado's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaxson Roberts, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylen Washington, who scored 13 points.

Moapa Valley's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-11. As for Eldorado, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

Moapa Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 88-72 loss against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus on the 16th. As for Eldorado, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-16 defeat against Virgin Valley on the 15th.
