Basketball Recap: Sahuaro Extends Home Winning Streak to 16

Sahuaro extended their home winning streak to 16 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Cisco Llamas. The Sahuaro Cougars secured a 69-64 W over the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers on Thursday thanks in part to Llamas, who posted 21 points along with five assists and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played.

Several Badgers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Malaki Cunningham-Hiadzi, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Armadillo, who had 13 points.

Sahuaro's win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Tucson High Magnet School, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7.

Sahuaro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-35 victory against Cholla on the 10th. Tucson High Magnet School has also already played their next game, a 65-38 defeat against Highland on the 16th.
