Volleyball Game Preview: Milford Eagles vs. Springboro Panthers

The Milford Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Springboro Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Milford will be strutting in after a win while Springboro will be coming in after a defeat.

On Saturday, Milford beat Oak Hills 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-21, 20-25, 25-9, 25-14.

Milford's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madi Long, who had ten digs and two aces. Long is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Cam Harris was another key player, getting 12 digs and five aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Milford was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They are 7-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Meanwhile, Springboro came up short against Mount Notre Dame on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with Mount Notre Dame: they've now lost four in a row.

Springboro's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Milford, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Everything went Milford's way against Springboro when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Milford made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
