Soccer Game Preview: Leander vs. Hays

The Leander Lions will head out to face off against the Hays Hawks at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Leander's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

It was a proper cat-fight when Leander took on Liberty Hill on Tuesday. Leander fell 2-0 to Liberty Hill.

Meanwhile, Hays has been on a difficult stretch since their win on January 3. They lost 4-1 to Cedar Park on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 660th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 139th).

Hays' defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Leander, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Leander took their win against Hays in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Leander since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
