Soccer Game Preview: East Valley vs. North Central

The East Valley Knights will square off against the North Central Wolfpack at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Valley is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

East Valley had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the four-goal drubbing they dealt Lakeside on Monday. The Knights blew past the Eagles 5-1. Considering East Valley have won four games by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for North Central's offense. They lost 3-0 to Pullman on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, North Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Pullman are ranked seventh).

East Valley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three contests. As for North Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6-1.

East Valley took their victory against North Central in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolfpack turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
