Basketball Game Preview: Glenwood Titans vs. Edwardsville Tigers

The Glenwood Titans will face off against the Edwardsville Tigers at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Glenwood will be strutting in after a victory while Edwardsville will be coming in after a loss.

If Glenwood beats Edwardsville with 44 points on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Glenwood secured a 44-40 W over Civic Memorial on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Titans who have now won three games in a row.

Meanwhile, Edwardsville unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 48-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alton. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Redbirds are ranked fifth).

Glenwood's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Edwardsville, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7.

Glenwood came out on top in a nail-biter against Edwardsville in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, sneaking past 43-40. Will Glenwood repeat their success, or does Edwardsville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
