Softball Recap: Dixie Flyers vs. Pine View Panthers

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Crimson Cliffs, Dixie was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Pine View Panthers. The Flyers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Brenlie Phelps spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Morgan Staheli was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Eliza Kesterson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Dixie hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive games.

Dixie's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Pine View, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16.

Dixie didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-8 win against Enterprise on the 15th. Hopefully Pine View paid attention to the Flyers' contest: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Flyers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
